An update on the '1066 & All That' project

On Tuesday this past week Phil delivered the latest consignment of the Norman figures he has been painting for me. I say Norman, but the mounted half of the figures were Bretons. First then, another base/unit of Norman Medium infantry ~

These of course are Foundry figures sculpted back in the day by Matt. Turning now to the Breton contingent, they were five mounted Gripping Beast figures I got from Colonel Bill's at Partizan. While a tad out of period and theatre, being Reconquista figures, they will proxy Bretons in my collection. I made one base/unit of Heavy cavalry with spear and the fourth General I needed to command the final Division ~
The collection is not quite done yet, but we are nearly there. Remaining to process are 8 Breton archers together with a base of Vikings and accompanying Viking command vignette. I'll pass these on to Phil later this month to fit in as and when he's able. Finally then, the Normans in all their glory arrayed ready for battle here in GHQ ~

  1. Nicely based up and displayed there Mr. B. Hopefully the Bretons will boost the Normans morale in the next outing following Tuesday set back🙂

  2. On my, those are lovely! Great to see hand painted shield designs too. The Normans certainly look rather fine arrayed for battle:).

    1. They are still out on the tabletop battlefield in GHQ as I've had to pop up to Derbyshire. I'll be back for our game, which may have to be this one.
