At last I can share something new for the retro-nostalgia project! It's taken me ten days, working in very short sessions, to complete these two guns and eight gunners! For context I would have been unhappy if they had taken me four days before my back injury! They are moderate works on my part at best I have to confess, the lace being particularly difficult due to hand, eye and back. I'm just a wreck at present! Anyway, enough of the self pity, see what you make of them ~
The figures and guns are from Ebor Miniatures, catalogued as British Field Gun Battery, the bases from Warbases as usual.A couple of closer pictures now. If I were you I'd be squinting now at the very least! I bought some new Jarvis static grass at The Other Partizan, paying careful attention to the colours I mix and not realising that my two new packets were longer filaments! Oops!
Finally, a look at the whole of the British tranche of the project set out on the tabletop battlefield here in GHQ to give some idea of where its heading.
Phil passed back the painted horses for the last squadron of Horse, which will be designated as Wood's Regiment of Horse when they muster in. I have painted the faces of the five figures and blocked in a couple of other colours. I shall try to progress these as I can...
