This week sees two SYW games here in GHQ: Monday against Jon and Tuesday against Phil. In both games the French, lead by the noted no-hope minor noble de Bykli, will take on the British under Lords Walton and Rawnsley. The rules will be Black Powder 2 of course. My figures are almost all from Wargames Foundry or their Casting Rooms Miniatures side branch, Barca handful of artillery crew figures from Eagle Miniatures and some French volunteer Light Infantry from Front Rank - you may remember them, bought by Gripping Beast, allegedly...
I don't intend any sort of battle report, just a few pictures of the game and individual units in action, a sort of early Christmas treat for the many tricorn fans out there. From Monday's game first, a few shots of the rival armies drawn up for battle.
As ever with Black Powder 2 it swung first one way, then the other, until one side suddenly discovered it had Broken due to accumulated losses...

You can't beat a bit of SYW action IMHO. There's something about linear warfare that just appeals to me. Thanks for some lovely photos of the figures and the action, which are very inspiring:)
ReplyDeletePleased you enjoyed your visit SteveJ, more to come in due course.
DeleteYou've managed to make a bunch of figures with fat fingers and funny faces look rather splendid Mr.B.
ReplyDeleteVery kind Jon! Was good to see you looking more mobile yesterday! I maintained my performance today in the second game against Phil!
DeleteA splendid array and a joy to game with. One thing you can say about De Bykli he is consistent 🙂
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Phil and of course you are right about my recent under par performances, but at least the game looked nice I tell myself!
DeleteA spectacle indeed. Took my own troops to the club last night and got whipped.
ReplyDeleteThank you George, much appreciated. As to the whipping, well, lost both games so I can sympathize.
DeleteThink I can class myself as a triceratops fan, the armies look splendid David 👍
ReplyDeleteYou like dinosaurs? Well, it is a broad hobby after all!😉 Thanks though for the kind words on my armies, much appreciated Matt.
