In the meantime I’d like to get a few figures on the painting desk. I have a few Trent Miniatures Austrians I plan to render as Grenzer to give something a little different to that army. I also have some Perry Miniatures AWI units in the queue, both British and Continental infantry, and some British Light Dragoons. We will have to see what develops in the next few weeks.
Its coming along nicely David, its only a shame you couldnt incorporate some Borgia Bulls motifs into the plaster.[Just joking] Although the family did love to publicise their badge, what a family they must have been.
ReplyDeleteThanks Robbie, though I’ll pass on the decorating suggestions having eleven thumbs!
DeleteThat is looking gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mike, that is very encouraging.
DeleteIt is all coming together rather splendidly, very grand. I will need a stiff drink, err, brush to dry brush it all🍷😉
ReplyDeleteYou may have wine, but only after the dry brushing!
DeleteThis is looking really nice. Master level kit-bashing going on here! Thanks for sharing all of you building sources.
ReplyDeleteThanks Peter for those very kind sentiments.
DeleteHow did you apply the stuff to the walls? Could you use a brush, or did you have to do it by hand? I tried doing something like this awhile back, and did it by hand, which produced a coating which was too thick. I then tried a brush, and it wouldn't stick very well. I wasn't using the lighter material you prepared, however, which may have been the problem...
ReplyDeleteBTW, great job!!

The extra fine filler can be spread quite thinly, but for robust wear I put it on like cake icing thickness, about 1-2mm I’d guess. I use a spatula from a set of dental tools about 1cm wide. I have a small 3 or 4 mm one for fiddly bits. It’s a good idea to do the texture before putting on the roofs! It’s also a good idea to think of how to apply the filler before siting windows & doors - the voice of bitter experience there!
DeleteVery nicely done!
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil!
DeleteLooking great and way ahead of schedule! You did say the new year, you'll have the next one done by then!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thank you Iain, I do have a second building on the go too! A large town house made from three Warbases Modular buildings.
DeleteThis looks like it should be a magnificent centrepiece for a game, I'm looking forward to see how you paint it.
ReplyDeleteCheers
So am I!
DeleteLooking good.
ReplyDeleteThanks George!
DeleteLooking good already David!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
No progress of late though!
