...otherwise 'The Pendawar Peacocks', the first cavalry unit for the army of the Pendawar Presidency. The figures for this imagination unit are Foundry Early British Light Dragoons, the Command and Charging packs respectively. The uniforms are very vaguely based on portraits of Light Dragoon officers in tropical uniform, but with the Tarleton helmet featuring a tiger skin turban and a dyed purple crest, hence their nickname of 'The Pendawar Peacocks' ~
Next across the painting desk should be another Sepoy infantry regiment for the 1st Brigade of the Army of Pendawar. As before these will be Perry Miniatures figures, so I shall need all my reserves of resolve to see them through...
Splendidly dashing fellows David...
ReplyDeleteAll the best. Aly
Very kind Aly, thanks once again.
DeleteGood to see the Pendawar painting progressing at a particularly fine pace.
ReplyDeleteWished I had a Dobby to paint for me...
DeleteAnother fine unit David and I think the 'Pendawar Peacocks' rather apt for some light cavalry Johnnies. Your project has made me ponder whether I could do this in 10mm, which could be rather fun:)
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing your take on the idea SteveJ, though I may need stronger glasses...
DeleteTrotting along nicely there Mr.B.
ReplyDeleteWished I was galloping through...
DeleteI know it's India but I don't think you really want the galloping trots ......
DeleteTrue, didn't think of it that way...
DeleteGreat looking cavalry!
ReplyDeleteThanks DeanM, support always appreciated.
DeleteFantastic looking unit.
ReplyDeleteThanks BZ, encouragement from every quarter always welcome.
DeleteNicely imagined. Love the purple combs. Was it they who inspired punk in the 70s?!! :)
ReplyDeleteRegards, James
Punk? Never entered my head!
DeleteNicely done David love the helmets…let’s hope the Peacocks can fight as good as they look ?
ReplyDeleteThanks Matt, but as Phil/Jon will be in command let's hope not eh?
DeleteLovely looking unit David! I always really liked the look of Tarleton's.
ReplyDeleteChristopher
