The figure is from North Star's Frostgrave range, cast in white metal and very reasonably priced. Now, he's not the most dynamically posed sculpt is he? But he was pretty straightforward to paint I have to say, about an hour's work in total I'd think spread over a day or two amongst the other inhabitants of the painting desk here in GHQ.
So that's a Dragon and a Giant added to the encounters anticipated, joining a large cave bear, giant spider, sabre toothed tiger, and even some various small dinosaurs. All these left over from various old Pulp projects down the years... Snow has been added to the bases now, so look out for a group shot next week to see what you think.
Very fine, a gargantuan effort there!
ReplyDeleteI see what you did there!
DeleteGreat Blog title David! Nice painting on a pretty static pose, but at least he won't take up too much space on the table as a result:). Looking forward the the school group photo in due course.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the title, shades of Private Eye of course. Group picture next week I hope. Other entries ahead of it in the queue.
DeleteLovely work there David that will add a chill to your table.
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Thanks for the encouragement Christopher!
DeleteVery nice work on the giant, not the mot dynamic of figures but he looks grand and should do the job on the table.
ReplyDeleteAs I hope Phil would say, "He will do!"
DeleteNice work David…
ReplyDeleteHe certainly looks cold… if he had any sense he would get himself a decent coat 😁
I’m looking forward to the group shot.
All the best. Aly
Thanks Aly! He's obviously not one of the brighter giants ...
DeleteA big change of direction there David, nice job.
ReplyDeleteJust a side project to entertain the grandchildren, should be ready for Christmas holidays.
DeleteHe'll certainly give any Norse raiders a "frosty" reception!!
ReplyDeleteExcellent painting and basing on an interesting figure.
Looking forward to seeing the project develope
More figures are underway and will appear in due time.
DeleteHe looks splended to me Dave! The pose looks suitably threatening... you can't expect giants to move too quickly can you? All in an hour's work, excellent job!
ReplyDeleteThanks Paul! He will do the job in games I hope.
