Arthurian Command

The last of the smaller groups  for the present, being three figures to represent an Arthurian Sub-General and his Companions. The figures are from 1st Corps and the shield transfers are more LBMS left overs. At a push the base might also represent the Arthurian Army Command on foot. The separate hand & weapon combo has proved resistant to UHU, Superglue and both combined, so I wonder how they will fare in action on the tabletop battlefield here in GHQ? Time will tell on that.  In the meantime, here they are awaiting your comments ~

There will be an hiatus now in painting sessions as I'm away from the home base, staying for a few days in the South Lakes area for Sue's birthday. On our return it should be on with an Arthurian infantry unit, once again using up some left over shield transfers from LBMS as I've enough odds and ends to service all their shields.

  1. Looking good there. If only super glue was as good gluing other materials as well as it does glueing skin together it would be brilliant.

    1. Gluing skin! I feel I'm something of a veteran, if not an expert!

  2. Lovely command base once again David, with nicely animated chaps who look like they mean business:)! As for the seperate hand and weapons combo, I'm not a fan due to the durability issue. Enjoy your break away and let's hope you get some nice weather!

  4. More excellence. The use of the axe makes the group stand out nicely.
I've some tricky gluing to do, perhaps today. Friends are talking of 'cold welding' - mixing superglue and baking powder to get a swift and strong bond. I'm going to give it a try, though I fear if the bonding is swift it'll take before I've got the two bits in quite the right place.
Perhaps one of your readers has tried this and can recommend you give it a go or stay clear of it.

    1. Thank you Stephen. I usually apply UHU then a spot of Superglue, it sets quickly and hard. Not so with these, I fear the small size of the hand/weapon piece has meant not enough surface area to bind?
