First base of Grenadier Guards completed.

After a very welcome break for a week 'Oop North' I have returned to the painting desk and my Crimean War project. I've completed the first base of Great War Miniatures' figures for the Grenadier Guards. This unit will complete my Guards Brigade for the project, sometime in early mid October I'd hope. The base features 8 of the Guards in marching pose with the addition of a wounded Line infantryman from the pack of British casualties ~

It is a bit tight fitting the casualty figures onto the British 80x50mm MDF bases when compared to the Roosian 80x60mm bases, despite there only being two ranks compared to three. I was inspired to use this figure as I have by a painting imaged on the web showing the Guards' attack at the Alma ~

{From the British Battles website.}

I started the first four figures for the next base of eight figures while I waited to finish off the groundwork on the first base. I also have a couple of mounted British personality figures I can fit in around these as and when. In between all this I've been rebasing a fifth Prodigal Foundry Roosian infantry battalion I overlooked somehow and the Prodigal Foundry Roosian artillery has had some preliminary attention too.
