Not an AAR report, sorry if that disappointed anyone, but rather an update on progress so far. I've completed two vehicles: a Soviet BMP-2 and a Chieftain MBT ~
A closer look at each of the vehicles to appreciate Phil's handiwork in painting both. I'm just responsible for the basing work and adding the transfers. Oh, and the buildings and such of course. The vehicles are the plastic kits from Battlefront's Team Yankee range. The Chieftain MBT first ~
The Soviet BMP-2 next ~
There were also bases for the terraced houses and another terraced house to complete that part of the layout, along with another small German house to join my barn in a small farm setting. More on this front as and when...
Good progress David, but I guess at the moment the British have the advantage !
ReplyDeleteIt will all pan out over time I'm confident.
DeleteBuilding up nicely Herr B.
ReplyDeleteHow about at your end though? Another couple to work on yet?
DeleteLooking good, what sort of size of force are you looking at for a 7 Days game?
ReplyDeleteI'll have to disappoint you Norm I think. Not a large game envisaged at present, half a dozen tanks or so and a few infantry groups plus support elements. I'm more a musket and cannon chap really, so this is very foreign territory for me, but I'll get sorted in the end I'm sure. At present I'm concentrating really on buildings and such as I have no 15mm terrain at all, not even any modern roads yet as you can see.
DeleteNot disappointed at all, that is exactly the sort of size that would interest me, I shall watch with interest.
DeleteIt'll be slow progress though Norm, about like watching paint dry I'd think.
DeleteI bet your glad we didn't sell them now.
ReplyDeleteI think I am, especially if you can persuade JH to paint the infantry for me.๐
DeleteLooks very cool David!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Thank you Christopher, much appreciated.
DeleteThis is starting to take shape rather nicely David.
ReplyDeleteIt's a start, I'll give you that, but a long way to go yet.
DeleteLooking good, you will be looking for something else soon.
ReplyDeleteI have other irons in the fire for existing projects ~ ACW, FRW, Pendawar. Progress with CWGH depends on factors outside my control, namely Phil's commission schedule.
DeleteImpressive progress there Dave! The development of Bikelheim seems to be eating up the green belt at an alarming rate! Wonderful looking vehicles too. Are you planning on trying the team yankee rules? or someting else such as Battlegroup maybe...
ReplyDeleteRead your WI article BTW, very nicely put together with a few interesting references to the earlier collections. I remember well your Napoleonic collection from the old days. I still have a jar of the famous "Bickley Pink!" I dare you to try and fit that into the B.O.A.R!๐
Don't see any pink in the B.A.O.R. really, but you never know... Glad you picked up the nostalgia thread in the article.
DeleteA nice pink windmill perhaps๐๐๐
DeleteI shall have to look out for a suitable 15mm kit then.
DeleteLooking good David. I have also been tempted/inveigled into Seven Days Territory. My First task is to paint the 30 or so infantry groups for the Warsaw Pact and the Brits. Once that mountain is climbed the vehicles should follow. I am finding that contrast paints are working very well for both companies, the question for me is to paint faces or assume they are wearing Max Factor Number 1 Field Camouflage face paint.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with the project Graham!
