Phillipe de Rawnsli, by Gripping Beast, mounted Knights by Foundry. Painted by Phil Robinson. |
Bicca, mounted on his warhorse, with his Huscarls, by Foundry. Painted by yours truly. |
The other pictures show the various groupings which we make up in games of Lion Rampant. We're not sticklers for rules as written and tend to play with what we have, so purists look away now...
The Anglo Danes, all Foundry figures which Matt designed for them and which I painted ~
The Normans, also Foundry figures designed by Matt for them and painted for me by my friend and wargames opponent Phil Robinson ~
And finally Vicca, the Abbot of Alrewas Priory with a couple of guards for his 'protection' ~
Keep an eye out for game reports later in the year, but next in GHQ a second run at the AWI scenario tomorrow with Jon commanding the British this time. Surely my dice luck must improve? Drop by later in the week to see if my optimism was well founded...
Ah, the joys of basing, I know it well ;~)
ReplyDeleteBeware Bicca, doomsday cometh.
Basing? Joys? Are you sickening for something?
DeleteNice looking figures, usable for lots of games.
ReplyDeleteThanks Matt, but if I'm going to play occasional games the rules will need to be simples!
DeleteI had a Norman army way back, we didn't hit it off and it got sold, Greenwood and Ball figures. These are nice though.
ReplyDeleteGreenwood & Ball, that takes me back. Had a good few of their ACW figures at one time.
DeleteSuper painting. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that Irqan.
DeleteI have just done something similar, creating 3 6 point Saga forces from my 40 something year old Minifig collections. I had thought to use the remainder as a trial 1066 Swordpoint collection of armies but am now beginning to wonder about basing all individually for LR. I shall be watching this space with great interest.
ReplyDeleteGreat minds, eh, Graham? I would hope they will see some action in the summer months.
DeleteGreat looking warriors!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
That's a very kind endorsement Christopher, thank you!
DeleteLovely looking figures, two nice forces for lion rampant.
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks for the kind words Iain.
