I have now completed working on all the Claymore Castings archers sculpted by Matt which Dave Imrie, the owner, so kindly gifted me after our chat at The Other Partizan. They are wonderfully sculpted, full of fine detail and lively, realistic animation. I highly recommend both the range and the Company to any readers interested in the period. Enough blathering on, you can see them for yourselves ~
And again, drawn up on the tabletop battlefield here in GHQ ready to give their all in a future game ~
My next addition to the project will be a further retinue for my Lancastrians. They are set to be a composite of Perry Miniatures' figures from their Wars of the Roses and Hundred Years War ranges, to hopefully give a more mixed look to them on the tabletop battlefield here in GHQ. More on them as they pass under the Brush of Doom in due course!

They are lovely figures indeed, the poses are great, really look the part, nicely painted and based too!
ReplyDeleteThey were a joy to paint!
DeleteGreat work!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThe figures look super David!
ReplyDeleteThanks Christopher.
DeleteWhy, the peasants aren't revolting at all.
ReplyDeleteThey are merely grumbling?
DeleteSome nice pieces there David.
ReplyDeleteThanks George!
DeleteVery nice looking figures, lovely poses, fine brushwork and expertly based. An all-together fine addition.
ReplyDeleteThe figures certainly exceed the painting!
DeleteI really think that your painting is far better and much more effective than you give yourself credit for... It's certainly up to, and exceeds the quality of what we see on many of the demo games at the shows, which in turn still look very good en' masse! The fact that you seem to have been able to develop a system to turn them out so quickly too, is nothing short of astounding in my view.
DeleteI think as modelers/painters or whatever, we all tend to be critical of our own work, and that in a way is good, as it encourages us all to strive to find ways to improve and do better.
Rest assured, your work looks absolutely fine to we onlookers, following your projects with profound interest! Well done sir!
I will take those points on board and strive to do better where I can.
DeleteNice work David, they look the part and I like the mixed look of the unit
ReplyDeleteIt was the look I was hoping to achieve, glad you liked it Matt.
